Unveiling Einstein Copilot for Salesforce

Salesforce has just unveiled a significant advancement in the second wave of the AI revolution with the release of  Einstein Copilot. This new, conversational AI assistant is designed to seamlessly integrate into every Salesforce application. With Einstein Copilot, Salesforce is taking a significant step forward by embedding AI directly into the flow of work to significantly enhance productivity and decision-making. By leveraging the power of generative AI, Einstein Copilot will make every user an AI-enabled and every Salesforce professional capable of delivering new functionality to drive business growth and better customer experience.

The Copilot feature on the Einstein 1 platform sets the stage for a strong rollout of many AI org enhancements over the coming years. Salesforce professionals need to grow their AI skill set by learning the foundational knowledge and how Einstein Copilot works.

Enhancing Productivity with AI

Einstein Copilot introduces a significant shift in productivity for Salesforce users by embedding AI directly into their workflow. It comes with many great features to do this. One important feature is its ability to link directly to relevant records within AI responses during a chat. This streamlines the process for working with records and also significantly reduces the time spent navigating the platform. Another great feature is how Einstein Copilot leverages company knowledge articles as part of its information grounding, enabling users to access intelligent, contextually relevant information in the context of the chat. These type of capabilities ensure that internal users can gather and utilize information faster than before, making informed decisions without the usual hurdles of clicking from record to record, data retrieval, and information analysis.

What About the Learning Curve?

Getting the full value promised by Einstein Copilot requires us to overcome a significant learning curve. Admins and Developers are tasked to roll out Einstein Copilot with custom business actions necessary to execute all its promoted capabilities. Because Copilot relies heavily on Flow, learning Flow extensively has immediately become one of the most important skills for professionals. AI Force Training has been teaching the importance of this and how to use AI inside a Flow since the beginning of the generative AI revolution.

Second to mastering AI Flows is learning Salesforce’s Prompt Builder.  Tailoring Einstein Copilot’s responses to an organization’s unique needs is becoming the responsibility of Admins and Developers. Prompt Builder serves as the hub for creating and managing prompts which customizing AI interactions, ensuring that the AI assistant aligns perfectly with the specific nuances of business operations and communication styles.

Getting familiar with Einstein Copilot can be done in a short sprint through the Salesforce Trailhead platform by looking through the Einstein Copilot Quick Look module and then moving onto the Einstein Copilot Basics trail. After, get registered for the GPT Specialist certification from AI Force Training to learn more in depth on delivering AI solutions with Flows.

Maximizing Einstein Copilot’s Capabilities

For Salesforce Admins and Developers, learning how to enable custom Einstein Copilot Actions through Salesforce Flow and the Prompt Builder is crucial for leveraging the full potential. In addition, Training for Einstein Copilot and Training for Prompt Builder will need to be completed to become proficient.

As proficiency in AI skills increases, many common use cases for Generative AI in organizations are showing up across various industries. Often times they include combining the native features of Salesforce and adding an AI element to them. Any routine task performed often has quickly become the target for potential automation (while keeping a human in the loop of course). If your not sure what kinds of solutions you can deliver with AI inside your org, you’ll want to check out the 3 Day AI Flow Introduction.

Accessibility and Availability

Einstein Copilot’s introduction rhymes somewhat with the rollout of ChatGPT. In both cases, it’s a chatbot meant to be used by millions of professionals to solve many tasks. With Einstein Copilot being focus in on CRM, this marks a significant step in making advanced AI capabilities accessible to a wider Salesforce audience. However, its availability, particularly regarding the new Einstein 1 Sales license edition, raises questions. This edition, positioned above the Unlimited Edition, includes Generative AI as a notable feature but does not explicitly mention Einstein Copilot. This ambiguity leads to speculation about the tool’s general availability to the public. Salesforce’s statement on the Sales Page says: “AI can be added to Enterprise and above. Contact a sales representative for detailed pricing information.”
